[ten] In 1621 the town was besieged with the Bavarians led by Tilly and right after huge bombardment the town was compelled to surrender as well as Saxons had to leave. The city was then punished for disobedience by in depth repressive measures. This example recurred once more in 1631 if the burghers permitted the Saxons to enter and conquered the
